General is not a good word for job application
Once you start looking for a general statements for an objective, you have already made it wrong… There is nothing like a good general objective, and it doesn’t matter if you apply for entry level job or have twenty years of experience…
Your resume objective should always reflect the job you are applying for, skills and abilities you can provide for the employer, and not on the last place what your real objective in life it. You tell me that you do not have any objective in life??? Please, ask yourself the following questions:
Find out your own objective
- What do I want to do in three years from now?
- How do I imagine an ideal day in work should look like? Should I talk to people or deal with computer?
- What activities do I really like to do in my life?
- Is there a job that would make me feeling proud of myself and happy in daily life?
Spending some time thinking about the four above mentioned questions, you should be able to define what you want to do in life, or at least in the following year. To choose general statements for an objective will be out of question after that.
However, for those of you who are too lazy to think or simply can not figure out their own unique resume objective, here are few samples of typically used general formulations. We do not recommend you to use it, but it is up to you what you do.
We can not write a good objective for you (as we do not know you), as well as we can not impress the employer in the interview with your application. You will have to do it on your own…
Samples of an objective
I am looking for a challenging and demanding role, where I can use all the skills and knowledge I have gained during my twenty years long experience. Let me show you what can I do for your company in a face to face interview. It is a decision you will never regret.
I am looking for any role where the employer can benefit from my skills and abilities, particularly [name your own skills here], and where I have a potential to growth and be promoted, if of course I prove my abilities with great results in daily job.
I am searching for a role where I can use what I have learned in my University studies and improve my knowledge. Am willing to learn and am willing to work hard.
I am looking for a trainee role in an international company, where I can learn as much in my job as possible. Being supervised by experienced managers and work in a team is my main objective. I hope I can be a real asset for every company, especially looking at a long term horizon.
I am searching a job where I can sell my skills and abilities and help the employer achieve the best possible results, as a part of the team.
So, these were some general samples of objective. However, I also recommend you to look at specific objectives and try to find the better one there. We wish you good luck!
